The Gunboat 6602, “Outnumbered,” is one of those boats.
We’ve been entrusted with a unique task: caring for this legendary performance cruiser while she searches for her new forever home. Our most exciting mission? To work alongside the world-renowned photographers from Ocean Images and help showcase “Outnumbered” in all her glory.
This is our story from behind the scenes, and an exclusive look at why this Gunboat 66 is so much more than just a yacht.
First Light: Setting the Stage for a Star
The call time was 7 AM. The Mediterranean air was still, and the sun was just beginning to warm the Spanish coast. This is the “golden hour,” and the Ocean Images team, Richard and Rachel, were already a whirlwind of activity. Their energy wasn’t frantic; it was focused—a well-rehearsed dance of drones, cameras, and meticulous direction.
Our job, along with our boys, was to be the supporting cast: ensuring every window was streak-free, every line was coiled, and that we could “look busy” on cue. It was a fascinating glimpse into the professional art of telling a boat’s story through a lens.
More Than a Machine: The Soul of “Outnumbered”
Spending a day focused on every detail of the Gunboat 660, you start to appreciate the genius of her design. This isn’t just a fast catamaran; it’s a thoughtfully engineered home.

We were particularly impressed with the clever outside steering station—a small but genius feature that gives the helmsman perfect visibility and communication during tricky maneuvers.
A Labour of Love: The Magic of Staging
A huge part of the photo shoot’s magic was “staging”—the art of making the boat look not just clean, but lived-in and loved. We learned that it’s all in the details:
- The Perfectly Placed Cushion: Throws and pillows were arranged to create inviting nooks in the spacious cockpit and cabins.
- Letting the Light In: Every blind was adjusted, every interior light and reading lamp was switched on to make the spaces feel warm, airy, and welcoming.
- Showcasing the Features: The massive dinghy was launched to demonstrate its impressive scale and capability. The flawless teak and gleaming carbon fiber were highlighted to show the quality and care invested in this vessel.

Being part of this process has been an incredible experience. It has given us a deep appreciation for “Outnumbered” not just as a high-performance machine, but as a beautiful, capable, and luxurious home for a new family’s adventures.
