The Boat
Outnumbered is a 2008 Gunboat 66, designed by Morrelli & Melvin and built in South Africa. She was refitted in New Zealand in 2022 — a significant investment that was immediately validated when she launched and won the Millennium Cup. She carries a 2017 Southern Spars carbon mast and a full 2023 Doyle NZ sail package.
She’s not a project. She’s a turn-key boat ready to go offshore.

What Makes Her Significant
The Gunboat 66 was a pivotal design — the boat that proved large performance catamarans could be genuinely fast and genuinely liveable at the same time. Seven were built. Outnumbered is Hull #2 of the original Morrelli & Melvin design.
The retractable daggerboards and rudders give her access to anchorages that most boats of this size can’t reach — shallow bays, tight coves, places where the cruising is best. She’s been sailed hard across oceans and cruised through the Mediterranean with equal ease. We’ve seen both sides of that firsthand.
