Stepping our carbon fibre rotating rig
We replaced our old aluminium rig with a new carbon fibre rotating wing mast earlier this year. I thought the Captain was joking when he said he had this idea for a new project. It wasn’t something that we had planned or budgeted for but when Shayne got a message asking if he wanted an old Team New Zealand America’s Cup rig that was about to be thrown away – he just couldn’t refuse! I’m not going to say that this was an easy project. It was A LOT of work but when you have the knowledge and access to the right materials and resources this is a once in a life time opportunity!
