Arriving in the Canary Islands after a great sail down from Cadiz. The next instalment in our video diary as we prepare to take our modified Catana42s across the Atlantic Ocean.
Our carbon longeron and front beam are fantastic but Shayne is worried about chafing on the navigation lights we have installed inside the bow pole. He spends a quiet morning checking that out and making sure all is good. We have the clutch for the tack line installed so Shayne no longer has to play monkey man and hang out the front of Paikea to set up the spinnaker.
The weather soon gets rough and as boats start to drag their moorings in the bay, we retreat to the safety of the marina to continue with a few little jobs to make night time sailing and reefing easier.
