You can use the drop-down menu above to learn more or scroll through the links below.
Take a moment to browse our content, and if you have any comments or questions, you can use our Members Forum to start a discussion topic. Alternatively, you can send us an email at admin@youngbarnacles.com. We will do our best to answer you as soon as we can. Please note that our content on this page will always be a work in progress as we keep adding to these topics as and when we can.
We work full time, home school 3 teenagers, fix Paikea when we can, and make videos whenever possible. So as you can imagine, our plates are pretty full – but we do want to create a resource that is more than just a Patreon page. We really appreciate your support so anything we are working on that we think our members might find value in, we will document and add it to the repository.
This is a dynamic space that will grow as we do, we hope you find it a valuable resource.

Understanding Polars
The importance of investing the time to create Polars that are fine-tuned to your own vessel cannot be underestimated. The gains made in understanding your vessel and the rewards reaped from more accurate weather routing are well worth any initial setup effort. The best news is that you probably have all the tools you will need already onboard.
We have already begun development of an app to help you generate your own polars! If you are interested in helping us develop this resource please email us for more info.

Fibreglass MasterClass
Our video collection on topics related to the more technical aspects of lamination.
