In our previous video we told you why we bought a 33 year old catamaran instead of nice new shiny one. Now it’s time to take you on a tour of the old girl. This week is all about the aft end of the bus. The transom and cockpit in particular. Join us as Shayne talks about what features of the boat we love, what we have already upgraded and what is in store next for Paikea.
This past week we have been working on updating our website. One of the biggest changes has been the addition of a page dedicated to daggerboard placement. It’s a big topic that covers all sorts of weather conditions and sea states. As we have already mentioned, at this stage we are compiling a playlist of short videos each reviewing a different scenario and describing where the daggerboards are and why we have them there. If you are interested you can check out the link here.
In terms of behind-the-scenes, our next job is to produce a number of short courses for our Members. We hope to have at least one of these available for you by the end of next month. There. I’ve said it so I had better get my A into G. Course topics will include Polars, Reefing setup, Splicing, and Trampoline. In the meantime we have been updating the pages and will post some pictures of our new rudder stocks there shortly.
